Overview
SAFEAPP exists for one of the most sensitive user groups any product can serve: survivors of sexual violence. Its mission is to support their healing journey with resources, education, and meditation tools — delivered in a way that feels safe to open, safe to use, and safe to trust.
247 Labs partnered with SAFEAPP to design and build a mobile platform where privacy, anonymity, and accessibility weren’t features bolted on at the end — they were the foundation the entire product was built on.
The Challenge
SAFEAPP set out to give survivors a secure, accessible mobile platform supporting their recovery through resources, educational content, and meditation tools. The design constraints were unlike a typical app.
Users needed to trust the platform completely before engaging with it, which meant anonymity and data privacy had to be verifiably real, not just promised. The experience itself had to be gentle: for someone in trauma recovery, a confusing interface or an intrusive prompt isn’t a UX flaw — it’s a reason to leave and never come back.
The Solution
247 Labs built SAFEAPP as a React Native mobile app that gives survivors a curated range of resources — video content, guided meditation practices, and educational material about trauma recovery — all organized to be easy to find in difficult moments.
Most importantly, the app offers a safe and anonymous environment. Data privacy and security were engineered into the platform from the first line of code, so users can engage with sensitive content knowing their identity and activity are protected. The finished app shipped to the iOS App Store.
