HUB International, one of the world’s largest insurance brokerages, was managing its insurance vendors’ portal credentials with Excel spreadsheets and an Outlook inbox — a workflow that consumed hours of manual effort. 247 Labs worked directly inside HUB’s repositories and servers, collaborating with their development team to complete a user management system for current and future brokers. The new system replaced the Excel-and-Outlook workflow entirely, cutting project management time by 30% and lifting collaboration efficiency by 40%.

Overview
An embedded build that retired spreadsheets for a global insurance brokerage
The Challenge
Broker credential management buried in Excel sheets and an Outlook inbox
HUB International managed portal credentials for its insurance vendors through a combination of Excel spreadsheets and an Outlook inbox. Maintaining the spreadsheet demanded a large amount of ongoing effort, and locating user information buried in Outlook took significant time on every request. As the broker network grew, the manual workflow grew with it — every credential added, modified, or searched meant more overhead. HUB had started building an internal tool to fix this, but the partially built system needed a development partner to carry it to completion inside their existing infrastructure.
The Solution
Completing HUB's internal tool from inside their own repositories and servers
Rather than starting from scratch, 247 Labs built on top of HUB International’s partially built internal tool — working directly from their repositories and on their servers. We embedded with HUB’s own development team and implemented a simple, user-friendly user management system serving their current and future brokers, fully replacing the Excel-and-Outlook workflow. The engagement model mattered as much as the code: by operating inside HUB’s environment, standards, and Sitecore-based stack, we delivered a system their team could own, maintain, and extend long after the project wrapped.
Areas of Impact
Measurable gains in speed, collaboration, and delivery reliability
Replacing a manual credential workflow with purpose-built software paid off across HUB’s operations. The client called the solution transformative: “247Labs helped us achieve new levels of productivity.”
- Time savings. Project management time was reduced by 30% once the Excel-and-Outlook workflow was retired.
- Collaboration. Efficiency across teams improved by 40% with a single shared system of record for broker credentials.
- Delivery reliability. On-time delivery rates jumped by 25%.
- Workflow simplicity. Inputting and modifying portal credentials became a simple, user-friendly process instead of a manual chore.
