The Martin Family Initiative — founded by former Prime Minister Paul Martin to advance education for Indigenous young people — wanted to explore how AI could make learning more interactive for children. 247 Labs delivered the complete architecture, design, and development of an AI-driven e-learning platform that recognizes an image and plays the specific interaction tied to it. The finished product was implemented on the Native elementary school board of Six Nations, turning a research question into working technology in real classrooms.

Overview
An AI research question turned into working classroom technology
The Challenge
Image recognition had to be reliable, meaningful, and simple enough for kids
The research client wanted to demonstrate that AI could detect an image and respond with a specific, meaningful interaction — the core mechanic of a new kind of learning experience for kids. Getting there required more than a recognition model. The system had to identify images reliably, trigger the right educational interaction every time, and wrap it all in an experience simple enough for elementary students to use independently. Because the destination was real classrooms rather than a lab, the platform also had to be robust enough for day-to-day use by teachers and children alike.
The Solution
An end-to-end AI e-learning platform, from architecture to the App Store
247 Labs took full ownership of the build — architecture, design, and development end to end. We created an AI-driven e-learning solution for kids in which image recognition acts as the doorway to learning: the platform detects a specific image and plays the interaction connected to it, making lessons tactile and responsive. The front end was built in Vue.js with an interface designed for young learners, and the experience shipped to iOS, published on the App Store where the school community could access it directly.
Areas of Impact
From proof of concept to real classrooms at Six Nations
The platform moved AI-assisted learning from concept to classroom — a real-world deployment serving Indigenous students, not a demo left on a shelf.
- Classroom deployment. Implemented on the Native elementary school board of Six Nations as part of former Prime Minister Paul Martin's Martin Family Initiative.
- Proof of AI capability. Demonstrated that image recognition can reliably power engaging, interaction-driven learning for children.
- Accessible delivery. Shipped as an iOS app on the App Store, putting the experience on devices schools and families already use.
- End-to-end ownership. One accountable team carried the project from architecture through design, development, and launch.
